Our Purpose

Leadership

At Walt Clark, we cultivate leadership and growth of character amongst our Student Council Officers and Representatives. Studies show that students who belong to organizations like STUCO and WEB go on to be much more successful in life because of the early development of strong leadership skills.

Giving Back to the Students

Every year, STUCO gives back to the students at WCMS in many ways. In 2018 we purchased an extra AED for the gym area, which would assist in saving a life if a medical emergency were to occur in the gym during a practice or game. In 2019 we purchased a volleyball net for students to use during outside play time and PE classes.
On a monthly basis, we support the Student Newsletter staff by purchasing color copies of the cover of the Cougar Connect newsletter to make it look polished and professional!

Every year we host 3 school-wide dances, providing entertainment for the students in the form of a high-quality DJ, a photo booth, pizza slices, and delicious snack shack items at a great price! We also sponsor treat bags, special prizes, and more during CMAS assessments.

Charitable Giving

Each year, WCMS Student Council does a charitable fundraiser in the spring. In the past, we primarily raised funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, but now we have expanded to benefit four additional charities, bringing our total to five charities we support:

* Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

* ALS Association

* Coins for Change

* Make-a-Wish Colorado

* Live Laugh Love Believe

See "News and Events" for more information about our current fundraisers.

Giving Back to the Community

Each year, WCMS Student Council hosts a food drive in the fall. The Philo Canned Food Drive benefits local community members by providing non-perishable items for the holiday season.
